    Tips: Accuracy of the incremental encoder

    The accuracy of the optical incremental encoder is not related to the resolution completely, and they are two total different concepts. Accuracy is a measure of the ability to determine the position of any pulse relative to another pulse within a selected range of resolution. Accuracy is usually expressed in terms of angle, arc minute or arc seconds. The accuracy of the encoder is related to the quality of the machining of the light-transmitting slit of the code disc, the manufacturing accuracy of the mechanical rotation of the code disc, and the installation technique.
