Tips: What is a mechanical interlock?

Mechanical interlock is when one AC contactor is opened and the coil power supply of the other contactor is disconnected to achieve the purpose of interlock. Generally, mechanical interlocking uses the auxiliary contacts of the contactor to achieve the purpose of interlocking. When one contactor is connected, the coil power supply circuit of the other contactor is cut off. Mechanical interlocking is to achieve interlocking through mechanical components. For example, two contactors cannot be closed at the same time. A mechanical lever can be used to make one contactor close when the other contactor is mechanically stuck and cannot be closed. Electrical interlocking is relatively easy to implement, flexible and simple, and the two interlocking devices can be installed in different positions. Mechanical interlock is more reliable, and there is no need to worry about misoperation, but it is more complicated and sometimes impossible to achieve. The two interlocking devices are usually installed in close proximity.
