    500W Gear Hub Motor Details

Tips: How does a 500W hub motor work?

Hub motor technology is also known as electric wheel motor technology. Its biggest feature is that the power unit, transmission and braking device are integrated into the wheel hub, which greatly simplifies the mechanical part of the electric vehicle. The wheel hub motor drive system is mainly divided into two structural forms: Inner rotor type and outer rotor type. Among them, the outer rotor type adopts a low-speed outer rotor motor, the maximum speed of the motor is 1000-1500r/min, and there is no deceleration device, and the speed of the wheels is the same as that of the motor. The inner rotor type uses a high-speed inner rotor motor, equipped with a reducer with a fixed transmission ratio. In order to obtain a higher power density, the motor speed can be as high as 10000r/min. With the advent of more compact planetary gear reducers, the inner-rotor hub motor is more competitive than the low-speed outer-rotor type in terms of power density.

    Great for my car
I recently had a minor issue with my car and bought the 500W gear hub motor as soon as the ATO saw it. After installing the gear hub motor, my car can run very well again.

    nice 500W hub motor
This is a nice 500W hub motor that seems very well made. A few gripes..  you’ll need to pull the pins out of the connector for the hub motor if you want to add a torque arm, because the connector will not pass through the hole for the axle. Easy enough to do. Take a photo of it so it’s easy to see which pin goes in which hole.
