    6Nm-200Nm Magnetic Powder Brake Features
    1. The excitation current is linear with the torque. The transmitted torque is substantially linear with the excitation current. As long as the magnitude of the stimulation current is changed, the magnitude of the torque can be controlled over a wide range. In general, the stimulus current is substantially proportional to the transmitted torque in the range of 5%-100% of the rated torque.
    2. Stable slip torque. When the stimulation current remains unchanged, the transmitted torque is not affected by the difference in rotational speed between the active and the driven, that is, there is no difference between the static friction torque and the dynamic friction torque, so that the torque can be stably achieved. This feature is applied to the tension control, and the user can accurately control the torque by adjusting the stimulation current, thereby effectively controlling the tension of the roll.
    3. Prevent heat generation due to slip. Generally, the friction part is inevitably heated or even burned when continuously sliding. However, the ATO magnetic powder brake has a complete heat sink, which will not be too hot for a long time and has a long service life.

    Tips: Notes for Use of Magnetic Powder Brake
    1. Please pay attention to moisture. Magnetic particles can become unstable with moisture, so be careful not to let oil or water enter the interior. Especially when installed in the gearbox, the oil will penetrate into the interior through the shaft, so the film should be completely sealed.
    2. Please pay attention to the surface temperature. The maximum surface temperature caused by continuous operation is below 90 degrees during operation, beyond which, the durability will be greatly reduced. Be sure to take the above limit temperature as the standard and use it within the allowable sliding rate.

    If powder brake is only usable for holding the brake?
    We would like to know if your magnetic powder brake with a hollow shaft is only usable for holding the brake or if it can be used as a variable torque brake.
    We would like to create a variable load for our electric motor test bench.

    Our magnetic powder brake torque is constant.
    When braking, it will brake slowly and decelerate slowly, instead of braking to stop immediately.
    How shall we interpret the "Capacity DC 24V / No. of hours set (S)"?
    I have 2 questions. How shall we interpret the "Capacity DC24V / No. of hours set (S)"? Other question: what is the recommended absolute highest temperature of this magnetic powder brake, measured on the outside of the rotating part (housing)? E.g. we could measure temperature of the rotating part using an infrared camera.

    1. "No of hour set" means inertia time, which is Not affected by general use, so you can ignore this parameter.
    2. The ambient temperature of this magnetic powder brake should not exceed 70°C.  Regarding the temperature outside of the rotating part you mentioned, unfortunately, we do Not have specific values for your reference.
    Have some questions about the 50Nm magnetic powder brakes.
    We have bought 2 pcs magnetic powder brakes.
    1. Can we run these continuously in room temperature air, with a braking power of 300 watts (250 RPM, 11.5Nm)?
    2. What is the maximum continuous power they can run with in room temperature air?
    3. If we need to use water cooling, how is that best/easiest implemented?

    1. Is 300 watts the power of your device? The speed of the brake can be 250 RPM.
    2. The maximum continuous power they can run with in room temperature air is 22.6 watts.
    3. Our POB series brakes cannot provide water cooling, while PB series can provide water cooling. But water cooling is generally used above 200Nm.
    4. We need to confirm what is the purpose and usage scenario of your brakes.
    Can the brake dissipate/load mechanical power continuously?
    The magnetic powder brake is driven by an electric motor through a shaft. The motor can deliver 300 Watt continuously. (1500 Watt peak)
    I am asking about the mechanical power the brake can dissipate/be loaded with continuously. Not the 24VDC electrical control power.
    The purpose of the brake is to verify the output of an electrical motor in a test setup.

    2. Unfortunately, the mechanical power you mentioned, we do not have this parameter.

    When should I use a magnetic particle clutch with water cooling or with natural cooling?

    If the temperature rises within 70°C, natural cooling will be okay. But if the temperature rises above 70°C, then it is recommended to use water cooling.
