Tips: Common faults and solutions of miniature circuit breaker

Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCBs) are commonly used for protecting electrical circuits. Here are some common faults and their solutions:

    Tripping without Load

    • Cause: Mini circuit breaker may be faulty or worn out, or it could be due to an internal fault like insulation damage.
    • Solution: Replace the MCB with a new one. Ensure no underlying circuit faults are causing the trip.

    Frequent Tripping

    • Cause: Overloading, short circuits, or earth faults.
    • Solution: Check for overloaded circuits, and verify wiring for short circuits or grounding issues.

    MCB Doesn't Trip on Overload

    • Cause: The MCB's thermal element could be defective.
    • Solution: Replace the faulty MCB.

    Physical Damage

    • Cause: External impact or deterioration over time.
    • Solution: Replace the damaged MCB to prevent safety risks.

    Failure to Reset

    • Cause: Mechanical failure or internal fault.
    • Solution: Inspect the micro circuit breaker and replace it if necessary.

    Types of Circuit Breakers
