    With the requirements of the driving control to automation continue to improve, soft starter as an intelligent motor starting equipment adopting SCR as main device, single chip as control core, has get more and more applications in various industries. Due to the rapid development of power electronics technology, intelligent soft starter has been more widely used. Intelligent soft starter is a new motor control device, which integrate soft start, soft stop, light load, energy saving and multi-functional protections in one. It has the feathers of excellent performance, small size and light weight, and its load adaptability is very strong. It not only realizes smoothly starting motor without-impact in the whole process, and also can according to the characteristics of the motor load to adjust the current limit, start time, and other parameters in starting process. In addition, it also has a variety of motor protection functions, which fundamentally solves drawbacks of the traditional buck-starting device.

    Soft Starter Works with a Bypass Contactor

    Soft starter works with a bypass contactor saving energy by eliminating thyristor losses during the run. The bypass contactor shunts the current flowing through the soft starter switch circuit to reduce heat accumulation in the soft starter power electronics during motor operation. This provides maximum efficiency and prolongs the life of soft-start switching components because they only work during the start and stop cycles of the motor.

    Can I operate soft starter controller like this?
    Can I use 120V contactor coil for the bypass contactor along with the off-delay timer coil 120V as well with this soft starter with the neutral wire going through the bypass output switch on the soft starter?

    If the bypass contactor and timer coil voltage you use are both 120VAC, then their coil voltage can use 120VAC power supply. The coil voltage of the bypass contactor can be used as long as it is Not higher than 250VAC.
    Very impressed - great product!
    I purchased 2 15 hp soft starts, one for myself and one for a friend. DIY installation was easy. The compressor start-up is very quiet. Great product and great customer support. Would recommend this device.

    Modify the order of the soft starter
