Tips: The speed controller must meet the stability conditions

When the speed of the unit deviates from the set value, the speed controller can respond accordingly, and at the same time, it must have a regular restoring force to restore the speed controller to its original state. The spring in the centrifugal speed controller is the part that generates the restoring force. Such a speed controller is called a static stable speed controller. However, a static stable speed controller may also have dynamic instability during the adjustment process. When the adjustment action is excessive and reverse adjustment occurs, the actual adjustment action will form an oscillating process. The speed controller that makes the oscillation quickly decay is called a dynamic stable speed controller, otherwise it is a dynamically unstable speed controller, which cannot guarantee the normal operation of the machine.

Speed range of gear motor I need

We think the speed range we need is from 50 to 120RPM, and the torque needed is around 15Nm.

We recommend SKU: ATO-GEAR-6IK200W, the maximum speed of the motor is 1350rpm.
If the reduction ratio is 10:1, the adjustable speed range is 50-120rpm, and the maximum output torque is 14Nm.
If the reduction ratio is 12.5:1, the adjustable speed range is 40-108rpm, and the maximum output torque is 17Nm.
But please note that when the motor speed is adjusted below 90rpm through the gearbox, the torque will also drop, and the output torque can not be maintained at 14Nm or 17Nm.

We want to know the best gear motor and its price

At Telesystem we are working on a small-scale test bench project to test our bearing system. We want to rotate the rotor with a speed range from 0 to 120 rpm, which we can control by some external driver.
Thus, we are interested in buying the gear motor with a 200W rating, and a controller that controls the speed in the range of 0 to 120 rpm. Will this motor be a perfect fit for us?

The speed range of the 200W Single Phase AC Gear Motor is 90-1350rpm.
If you want to output 0-120rpm, you need to choose a speed ratio of 15:1 or higher, or even larger.
May I ask what are your typical speed and torque requirements for a 200W motor output?
