Tips: Proximity sensor's common problems on detect distance

    1. Proximity sensor can't detect the distance of detected object.
    2. Sensor is installed within the detection range with unstable signal in the actual detection (sometimes detectable and sometimes undetectable).
    3. Actual detection distance is different from the standard detection distance indicated in sensor (or less than the detection distance, or larger than the detection distance).

Since there is a certain tolerance detection distance in proximity sensor that is 10% of the standard detection distance, that is to say, the detected object installed at the maximum distance could be influenced by its material so that the perception of sensor is at the critical point, causing the object sometime detectable and sometimes not. In addition, some industrial equipment or detected object has certain distance deviation in the process of operation or swinging. If a detected object is installed at the maximum detection distance, there could be a malfunction or bad reception.

    ATO Responded
For inductive sensor 120V two or three wires, we recommend SKU: ATO-PROS-I30, the maximum detection distance is 15mm±10%.
M30 proximity sensor detects the distance
Will the M30 proximity sensor detect passing plastic bottles and aluminum cans?
    From: Baran | Date: 05/09/2021
Was this review helpful? Yes No (0/0)
    ATO Responded
Yes, it is completely possible, but the detection distance may be biased.
