Tips: The difference between RS232 and RS485 Converter.

    1. Communication quantity of the interface:
As mentioned above, the RS232 interface can only connect 1 transceiver on the bus, and does not support multi-station transmission and reception, so it can only communicate with point to point.
The RS485 interface allows up to 128 transceivers to be connected on the bus. That is, it has multi-station communication capability, so that users can use a single RS485 interface to easily establish a device network.
    2. Electronic characteristics of the interface:
RS232 transmission level signal: The signal level of the interface is high, which is easy to damage the chip of the interface circuit, and because it is incompatible with the TTL level, a level conversion circuit is needed to connect to the TTL circuit. In addition, the anti-interference ability is poor.
RS485 transmission differential signal: logic "1" is represented by the voltage difference between the two wires as +(2-6) V; logic "0" is represented by the voltage difference between the two wires as -(2-6) V. The interface signal level is lower than RS-232, it is not easy to damage the chip of the interface circuit, and the level is compatible with the TTL level, and it is convenient to connect with the TTL circuit.

Bidirectional conversion and easy to connect
This converter supports bi-directional communication and can convert USB interface to RS485 communication protocol in both directions. Installing and connecting this converter is usually relatively simple - just connect the USB port to the computer and then connect the RS485 port to the RS485 device.
