  2. Calculate the actual displacement value according to the formula: Gallon/min=displacement (ml/rev)*rated speed 1500rpm/3785.41L (speed variation range 500rpm-3000rpm).

According to the design requirements of 31.7 GPM hydraulic gear pump, the coaxiality between the rotation axis of the prime mover and the gear pump is not more than 0.1mm.

Tips: How to use hydraulic gear pump correctly?

  1. It is recommended to use L-HM46 or hydraulic oil with similar viscosity in summer and L-HM32 or hydraulic oil with similar viscosity in winter. The working hydraulic oil temperature of hydraulic gear pump is -20℃-80℃. If the oil temperature is too high, it will seriously affect the life of the seals. Please choose a reasonable cooling system. In addition, pay attention to check the rated speed and rated pressure of the hydraulic gear pump. Over-speed and over-pressure work will also seriously affect its performance.
  2. Do not directly use belt pulleys, sprockets, gears, etc. to make the main shaft bear radial force without the drive bearing installed.
  3. When using the hydraulic gear pump for the first time, pay attention to the exhaust of the pipeline, so as not to cause unfavorable phenomena such as unstable pressure, insufficient pressure, insufficient flow, and loud noise.
  4. The running speed of hydraulic gear pump should not be lower than 500r/min, so as to avoid insufficient oil absorption, resulting in malfunction and damage to the gear pump.

About the horsepower
I have a question about this pump. I would be looking at purchasing the 30GPM model. I'm wondering about the horsepower requirements to achieve the full efficiency out of this pump. Is that something you can help me with?

Regarding the calculation of motor horsepower, please follow the following formula: Motor power: W=P×Q×n/54000(KW); P=oil pump working pressure (MPa); Q=oil pump displacement (ml/r); n=motor speed (r/min). According to the calculation formula, a motor of about 40KW is required.
Hydraulic Gear Pump
I wanted to purchase one but I didn't know if the pump head was compatible with my fluid, and what material the pump head and seals were made out of.

The seal used in this pump is nitrile rubber.
What is your fluid medium? We also need to know the temperature, pressure, etc. of the fluid.
Can you suggest valving to control the flow of this pump?
Can you suggest valving or other ways to control the flow of this pump?
Maybe simply by adjusting the pump RPM?

The pressure regulating valve is used to control the pressure, and the RPM needs to be adjusted to control the flow of the pump.
So we do not recommend using valves to control the flow.
