Tips: Different types of butterfly valves
Butterfly valve is a very common control valve which is inside a circular disc opening and closing part, which can rotate back and forth with the valve stem to achieve opening and closing and throttling valves. The butterfly valve can be divided into four types according to the disc plate in the middle, including center line butterfly valve, single eccentric butterfly valve, double eccentric butterfly valve and triple eccentric butterfly valve.
The rotation center of the center line butterfly valve plate is on the centerline of the valve body and passes through the center of the sealing surface. This butterfly valve is the simplest and the most commonly used one.
The double eccentric butterfly valve is usually called a high performance butterfly valve. The rotation center of the valve plate deviates from the sealing surface of the valve plate, which forms the first eccentricity. It also deviates from the centerline of the valve body to form a second eccentricity. Its design function is to have a gradual separation and gradual squeeze between the valve plate and the valve seat, thereby reducing the mechanical wear and abrasion between the two sealing surfaces of the butterfly valve sealing pair when the valve plate is opened and closed.
Triple eccentric butterfly valve, that is, three eccentric surfaces, which are the eccentricity formed by the rotation center of the valve plate and the sealing surface of the valve plate, which form a dimensional deviation from the center line of the valve body, and the center of the valve body forms an angle with the center of the valve body sealing surface. When the triple eccentric sealing butterfly valve is fully opened, its valve plate sealing surface will be completely separated from the valve seat sealing surface, and a gap the same as the double eccentric sealing butterfly valve is formed between the valve plate sealing surface and the valve seat sealing surface, thereby completely eliminating the mechanical friction between the two sealing surfaces of the sealing pair when the valve plate is opened and closed.
