Tips: How to calculate voltage stabilizer rating?

To calculate the voltage stabilizer rating, follow these steps:

1. Determine the Load Power (in Watts)
Identify the total wattage of all the electrical appliances you want to connect to the voltage stabilizer. This includes lights, fans, refrigerators, air conditioners, etc.
Example: If you're using an air conditioner of 1500W and lights totaling 500W, the total power load would be 2000W.

2. Convert Power to Volt-Amperes (VA)
Voltage stabilizer ratings are usually in volt-amperes (VA) or kilovolt-amperes (kVA). To convert watts to VA, use the power factor (PF). The power factor typically ranges from 0.8 to 1. For most household appliances, use 0.8.
VA=Total Power (Watts)/Power Factor (PF)

3. Determine Voltage Rating
Identify the voltage rating of your appliances, typically 230V for many countries. Some devices may require 110V. This ensures that the stabilizer can handle the voltage demands.

4. Add a Safety Margin
Add a 20-25% safety margin to account for future load increases or power surges.
Stabilizer VA Rating=2500 VA*1.25=3125 VA

5. Round Up to Standard Ratings
Voltage stabilizers are available in standard ratings (e.g., 1 kVA, 2 kVA, 3 kVA, etc.). Based on your calculation, select a stabilizer with the next higher rating. In the example above, a 4 kVA or 5 kVA stabilizer would be appropriate.

Split phase
Hi,

With this model is it possible to add an isolation transformer to have a split phase 220/110V?

This works in principle, but it will also change the size and weight of the regulator, please contact our pre-sales technical team for technical enquiry.
Want to buy 30 kVA 1-phase voltage stabilizer for my house
I need more information in the 30 kVA 1-phase voltage stabilizer that want to use to regulate voltage in my house. Service is  US Standard 60Hz split phase. Need answer to this questions:
Can you accomodate for a high voltage situation?  Actual voltage is as follow:
L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral 125 to 135 volts; L1 to L2: 250

ATO Responded
Yes, we can accommodate for 190-250V input voltage. But stabilizer output doesn't have 110/120V, its only fixed 220V (L1,L2 + G). So you will not be able to run/connect 110/120V loads from/to the stabilizer output.
