The good price 4-electrode electrical conductivity (EC) sensor can minimize the AC deviation caused by equivalent capacitance. The conductivity measurement range is 0.1~500ms/cm and the salinity measurement range is 0~500ppt. The electrode material is graphite, with a flat structure design, high pollution tolerance and easy cleaning. The 4 electrode electrical conductivity (EC) transmitter has a standard RS485 MODBUS-RTU protocol interface function, which can communicate remotely with the host computer. It is suitable for aquaculture, environmental protection engineering, university scientific research and other industries. Since the excitation electrode and the sampling electrode are separated, the 4 electrode conductivity sensor can effectively avoid polarization deviation caused by electrode polarization.

Tips: How do conductivity sensors work?

The conductivity sensor detects the ion concentration by measuring the conductivity of the solution, and its core principle is to apply an alternating voltage to the electrode to avoid electrolysis, use the directional movement of ions in the solution to form a current loop, measure the resistance between the electrodes and calculate the conductivity value based on the formula. Sensors typically use a two-electrode or four-electrode construction to reduce polarization errors, and a built-in temperature sensor (e.g., PT100) for automatic temperature compensation to correct the results to a standard value of 25°C. In order to adapt to different application scenarios, low-conductivity solutions (such as pure water) are excited by high frequency, while high-conductivity solutions (such as seawater) are selected with low-frequency or four-electrode structure, and the final conductivity signal (μs/cm or ms/cm) is transmitted through 4-20mA, RS485, etc.
