The ammonium ISE (NH₄⁺ ISE) measures ammonium ions by generating a membrane potential across a PVC sensitive membrane, which is directly proportional to the NH₄⁺ activity in the solution. The membrane contains ion-exchange sites that preferentially interact with ammonium ions, minimizing interference from other cations. The ClickOK reference system provides a stable reference potential, while the detachable annular liquid junction ensures reliable contact and reduces the risk of clogging.
