After purchasing one ATO load cell, you can buy a special digital panel meter to obtain readings directly, or buy a transmitter to output standard signal to PLC, DCS and other systems. Customized output signal is 0-5V, 0-10V, or 4-20mA.

Note: The load cell cannot be connected to both the transmitter and the controller at the same time — only one can be selected.

0 to 30000N piezoelectric force sensor is highly sensitive, capable of detecting very small forces, and is typically used in dynamic applications due to its rapid response time.

Tips: What is a piezoelectric force sensor?

A piezoelectric force sensor is a device that measures force by utilizing the piezoelectric effect, where certain materials generate an electric charge when mechanically stressed. These sensors are typically made from piezoelectric crystals like quartz. When a force is applied to the sensor, it deforms the crystal structure, generating an electrical charge proportional to the force applied.

These sensors are highly sensitive and can measure dynamic forces over a wide frequency range, making them ideal for applications requiring precise force measurement in rapidly changing environments, such as automotive testing, aerospace, and industrial machinery monitoring. They are especially useful for detecting small forces or short-duration impacts. However, piezoelectric force sensors are less effective for measuring static or slowly changing forces due to charge leakage over time.

In this video, we've shown you how to calibrate the weight transmitter Model 610 by ATO using a compression load cell so that you can make sure you get the most accurate readings possible in your measurement.

This video explains the six main considerations as to the selection of load cells for different jobs. These factors are application, operating environment, types of material and sealing techniques, capacity/resolution requirements and output signal types. Hope this video will be helpful and get you prepared for the initial discussion with technical personnel during the selecting process.

In this video, ATO offers a variety of load cells and weigh modules designed for your applications.
