Axial-flow small hydroelectric generators are suitable for low-head scenarios with a head of 1-6 meters (such as small rivers or dams). The core consists of a generator and impeller mounted coaxially. Installation requires selecting a solid foundation like bedrock, constructing an intake system with a water channel, sluice gate, and trash rack, then building a spiral water channel to create a vortex that drives the impeller. This is paired with a bell-shaped tailrace pipe (which generates suction to enhance power, with its length equaling the head) to ultimately drive the generator.
