Tips: How to select the right tool setter?

  1. According to the wiring of the tool setter, a 4 wire setting device is required for a 4 wire tool setter, and a 6 wire CNC machine setting device is required for a 6 wire tool setter. Or according to the control system's tool setting contact type. There are two contact types: normally open (NO) and normally closed (NC).
  2. Select based on the exact diameter of the tool setter contact surface. The diameter of the tool setter contact surface must be larger than the diameter of the tool, generally ≥5mm.
  3. Select according to the distance of the tool from the mounting base. The height of the tool should be at least 3mm different from the height of the tool setter. For example, the distance of the tool from the mounting base is 62mm. When selecting a tool setter, choose the height is 65mm. As for some special ones that do not have suitable height and tool contact surface, customize a tool setter from the manufacturer.

Basically, an applicable tool setter can be chosen based on the above points. The other parameters such as protection class and accuracy are of course the higher the better. However, the price of a different class is different. It mainly depends on the processing accuracy requirements of the product. If the accuracy requirements are not particularly high, choose a tool setter with a relatively low accuracy is ok.

perfect tool setter that solved my problem
This CNC Tool Setter is top-notch! Setting it up was a piece of cake, and its accuracy is spot-on. Before getting this, I was constantly dealing with Z-axis issues, but now, problem solved! The option to switch between NC and NO contact types is super handy for different machine systems. Plus, it's compatible with various setups, thanks to the 24VDC rating. It's all I need for a perfect cnc tool setter.
