    75KW Soft Starters Details

Tips: The choice of soft starter capacity
In principle, the soft starter capacity should be greater than the capacity of the motor it drove. The rated capacity of the soft starter usually has two nominal values. One nominal value is according to the corresponding motor power, and the other is according to the allowable maximum operating current of soft starter. Should pay attention to the following two points:

    1. According to the motor rated power, then the product of different voltage levels has different rated current. For example, a 100hp (75kW) soft starter, if the voltage level is AC380V, then the rated current is 150A, if the voltage level is AC660V, the rated current is 100A.
    2. According to the allowable maximum operating current of soft starter, the product of different voltage levels has different rated capacity. For example, a 160A soft starter, if voltage level is AC380V, the rated capacity is 100hp (75kW), if voltage level is AC660V, the rated capacity is 180hp (132kW).

Also should synthetically consider other factors for selection, such as the soft starter carrying capacity, working system, environmental conditions, cooling conditions and others.

Soft Starter Works with a Bypass Contactor

Soft starter works with a bypass contactor saving energy by eliminating thyristor losses during the run. The bypass contactor shunts the current flowing through the soft starter switch circuit to reduce heat accumulation in the soft starter power electronics during motor operation. This provides maximum efficiency and prolongs the life of soft-start switching components because they only work during the start and stop cycles of the motor.

If the soft starter I have can be fed with DC and output 240v AC?
I was wondering if the soft starter I have can be fed with DC and output 240v AC.
It's the 60hp soft starter you sell.

    ATO Responded
What is your order number? Please provide us with the nameplate label of the soft starter to confirm the model number.
    Thank you for your understanding.
The soft starter can not be fed with DC and output 240v AC.
If you want to input DC voltage and output AC voltage, you can use off-grid inverter, please see spec on: https://www.inverter.com/off-grid-inverter
    100HP Soft Starter
Just took 5 days to receive the ATO 100 hp soft starter, I applied it to my ball mill, the startup process was smooth and fast, thanks!
