Digital Readout Shows Negative Values Under Tension with 200kg Load Cell

    Hi everyone,
I purchased a Digital Read Out that pairs with the Tension/Compression 200kg Load Cell.
Digital readout: [https://www.ato.com/digital-load-cell-amplifier-output-4-20ma-0-10v-rs485] (I bought the version with output signal 0-10V & RS485)
    Load cell: [https://www.ato.com/tension-and-compression-load-cell-1kg-to-200kg] (200kg version)
At first, I couldn’t get it to read anything other than "0", but I figured that part out. Now I have a new issue: the digital readout shows a positive number under compression, but a negative number under tension. Our design is only going to be used under tension. Is there a way to make the readout show positive values for tension?
    Thanks.

Fairchild, if your load cell can both compress and stretch, the readings will show a positive value for compression and a negative value for tension. If you want to reverse this so tension reads positive and compression negative, you need to swap the signal wires of the load cell, specifically the green and white wires.

Thanks for the help! That clears it up. I’ll try swapping the green and white signal wires so that tension reads as a positive value, which is exactly what we need for our design.
