Tips: What are the temperature coefficient, hysteresis and warm-up period of magnetostrictive sensor?
Temperature coefficient: The variation of output value of sensor along with the increase in environment temperature by 1℃ when the detected target location is not changed. The unit of temperature coefficient is ppm/℃.
Hysteresis: The difference value between the two times’ measured output value when the magnet ring passes through one location reversely after reaching and surpassing it along the direction of measurement. However, the actual hysteresis of magnetostrictive displacement sensor is very small and can be neglected in most applications.
Warm-up period: The time, from sensor is powered on to output value becomes stable.

In this video, ATO will simply show you how to connect linear displacement sensor and digital panel meter.

From "cost" to "investment", a key step in intelligent upgrading
When the purchasing department initially submitted the budget, I thought the unit price of this sensor was quite high. However, after reviewing it with the technical department and running it for over six months, I realized it was a very wise investment.

It brings value beyond simply replacing a part. It enables us to digitize and precisely control the stamping process, which is the foundation for moving toward a smart factory. We now accurately record the stroke data for each stamping operation, providing data support for quality traceability and process optimization. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) has increased by approximately 5%, and the reduction in scrap and mold loss alone has paid for itself in just a year and a half.

My advice to managers in my field is: Don't just look at the purchase price; consider the total cost of ownership (TCO) and the long-term value it brings. This sensor is a powerful tool for enhancing core competitiveness.
