    Tips: Magnetostrictive sensor for dam cracks detection
    According to architectonic related principle, dam structure is mainly composed of dam column combining with cement wall. The dam column pile is very deep, cement wall is relatively shallow. As time goes on, there will be cracks between dam column and cement wall, it may require detection. In crack detecting application, magnetostrictive sensor is mounted in the channel of dam (the channel layers would be different while the dam height is different). A channel could be considered according to actual inside condition, need to mount at multi-points and detect. For actual on-site installation, magnet ring should be fixed on cement wall, and magnetostrictive sensor should be fixed on dam column. When cracks changes, magnet ring position will change along with the cement wall position changing, sensor will transmit the signal of new position generating by magnet ring to control room.
    Since displacement on dam detection is very small, and the change is a long term and slow changing process. Due to its unique principle, magnetostrictive displacement sensor could satisfy the measuring requirement in accuracy and stability. Therefore, it's widely used in dam cracks detection.
