After purchasing one ATO load cell, you can buy a special digital panel meter to obtain readings directly, or buy a transmitter to output standard signal to PLC, DCS and other systems. Customized output signal is 0-5V, 0-10V, or 4-20mA.

Note: The load cell cannot be connected to both the transmitter and the controller at the same time — only one can be selected.

A compression button load cell is a precision measuring device primarily used to measure small changes in weight or pressure. When an external force acts on the sensor, the metal structure will undergo slight deformation, which will cause the strain gauge to output a weak electrical signal. This electrical signal is then amplified, filtered and analyzed by a data acquisition system, and ultimately converted into a readable numerical or graphical display.

Button load cells have capacity range from 5kg, 10kg, 20kg, 30kg, 50kg to 100kg. Load cell capacity can be customized according to customer requirements.

The following factors should be considered when making a selection:

Load capacity: Ensure that the load cell selected is suitable for measuring the maximum load required.
Accuracy requirements: Different applications require different accuracy levels.
Operating environment: such as temperature, humidity and chemical exposure, select a load cell that is corrosion, vibration or high temperature resistant.

Mounting for Compression Loadcell

The photo, pdf catalogue, and drawing don't clarify this, but what is the mounting for this compression/button-type loadcell (SKU: ATO-LC-BU02)? Press fit? Single M6 bolt concentric with the center of the loadcell? 3 M3 screws circularly patterned at x diameter?

Load cell wiring

The question is about the ends of the sensors. One sensor has all 4 wires and a shielding wire. The other has no shielding wire and seems to be taped up. Is this something to be concerned about?

The lack of shielded wire will have no effect. You can leave the shielded wire unconnected, and the sensor can be used normally.

Use of load cell

Will your compression and tension load cell like SKU: ATO-LC-P02 work for both tension and compression for the same application/installation?
If yes, then what will be the difference if it is subjected to tension then to compression for the same application/installation?

Yes, the load cell SKU: ATO-LC-P02 can work for both tension and compression in the same application/installation.
Its output signal has positive and negative points (maybe the tension is +, and the compression is -), if you switch the SIGN+/SING- wiring of the weighing sensor, you can switch this ±.
So when the sensor outputs 0V, it corresponds to zero load, and when it outputs ± 20mV, it corresponds to full tension or compression.

About compression button load cell

I just called asking if we would also get the cable of the load cell together with the ordered items? Will the load cell come precalibrated?

2. The load cell will be calibrated before leaving the factory.
