    What can a gas detector detect?

    • Combustible gases: Natural gas (methane), liquefied gas, coal gas (hydrogen), acetylene, pentane, alkynes, acetone, toluene, alcohols, hydrocarbons, light oil, etc.
    • Toxic gases: Carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, chlorine, oxygen, phosphine, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen chloride, chlorine dioxide and other toxic and harmful gases.

    Gas Detector Application

    Oil and gas

    The gas detectors are typically applied in the exploration drilling platforms, production platforms, onshore oil and gas terminal stations, refineries, etc. And it is often used to detect the inflammable and explosive gases like Hydrocarbon gas, and toxic gases such as hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, and so on.

    Semiconductor manufacturing

    In the water reactor, water dryer, and chemical vapor deposition and other typical occasions, the portable or fixed gas detectors are usually used to monitor the gas leakage and give the alarm.

    Chemical devices or equipment

    In the production process, using the by-products usually produces a variety of inflammable and toxic gases. The gas detectors are commonly used in the areas from raw material storage, processing area, laboratory, pump area, compressor station to boot area or non-boot area.     Calibration of Fixed Gas Detector

    In clean air, press the MENU, then press "+" to enter F04, then press OK, then press BACK. The detected data will become zero. Prepare the standard gas, we use iso-butane for calibration.

    • Step 1: Press the Menu, then press "+" to enter F07, change the data to be the same as the value of the standard gas, then press OK.
    • Step 2: Press the Menu, then press "+" to enter F08, now you will see it shows 0, change it to 1, then press OK and back.
    • Step 3: Connect the sensor with the standard gas, gas flow rate is 500mL/min, wait till the data is stable, then press the OK for 3 seconds.

    The calibration is finished. If the detected data difference among the detectors is only 2 or 3, then you can just do the zero calibration. Only when the detected data difference is above 10, then you need to do the span calibration by standard gas.
