    Tips: How does the guided wave radar level transmitter work?

    The guided wave radar level transmitter operates based on time domain reflectometry technology. It sends microwave pulses along a probe or cable that extends into the medium.

    1. When the microwave signal reaches the surface of the liquid or solid, part of the energy is reflected back to the transmitter.
    2. The time difference between the transmitted and reflected signals is precisely measured.
    3. Using the speed of electromagnetic waves, the radar level transmitter calculates the distance to the surface, and thus the material level.
    4. The radar level sensor automatically compensates for temperature, pressure, vapor, or dielectric changes, ensuring accurate and stable measurement.
    5. Because it uses low-energy microwave signals, it’s non-contact, maintenance-free, and suitable for harsh industrial environments such as chemical, water treatment, and oil storage tanks.
