Tips: What is a through hole slip ring?

The through hole slip ring is also called through bore slip ring, is a rotating conductive device with a middle hole structure. Through hole slip rings are mainly used to transmit precision signals, weak currents, high currents, high voltages, and the like. It features low torque, low loss, maintenance-free, low electrical noise, and long life. The through hole conductive slip ring is mainly composed of metal ring and brush wire, and contact modes of the two are points contact type and surface contact type. The contact resistance of slip rings directly affect the effect of signal transmission. In general, the smaller the contact resistance, the better. For the factors affecting the magnitude of contact resistance, in addition to contact materials and contact form of the contact surface, it also include the pressure of brush wires on the slip ring. The greater the pressure, the smaller the contact resistance, but the increase in pressure has a certain limit. If the limit is exceeded, the friction torque will increase, causing the contact portion to wear greatly. Through hole slip rings generally use the number of revolutions as an indicator of their life. The maximum service life of a through hole slip ring is approximately tens of millions of revolutions. If the slip ring is used in application require high speed rotation, its life is limited. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly check the performance of through hole slip rings to ensure reliable operation in actual use.
