    Tips: What is the Working Principle of Magnetic Cylinder Sensor?

    Magnetic cylinder sensor operates with a built-in reed switch as its core component. Various slot shapes are designed to fit different cylinder types for versatile application scenarios. When the permanent magnet ring attached to the cylinder piston moves into the sensor’s sensing range, the magnetic field generated by the magnet will make the two magnetic-sensitive metal reeds inside the glass tube attract each other and close, thus turning on the normally open contact and sending a clear position signal to the external control system.

    When the piston drives the magnet ring to move out of the sensing area of the sensor, the magnetic force acting on the reed switch disappears. The metal reeds will rebound and separate automatically due to their own elasticity, the contact will be disconnected immediately, and the signal output will stop until the next trigger.
