Tips: What are the differences between shielded and unshielded proximity sensor?
The shielded proximity sensor is equipped with a metal shielding layer around the sensing head, which only allows the electromagnetic field to be emitted straight ahead, and is suitable for installation on metal surfaces, such as CNC milling machines, servo motor drive modules and other equipment. This type of sensor supports flush installation and has strong anti-electromagnetic interference capabilities. It is often used in industrial environments with high precision, limited space or more metal interference.
The unshielded proximity sensor has no shielding layer, and the electromagnetic field can spread to the front and sides, with a longer sensing distance, but it is not suitable for installation close to metal to avoid false triggering. It is widely used in automatic packaging machines, logistics conveyor lines, intelligent warehousing systems and other equipment, suitable for applications with open space, less interference, and requiring a larger sensing distance.
