1. Turn on the digital dial gauge by pressing the power button.
2. Check the display screen to ensure that the gauge is reading zero. If it is not, press the "zero" button or the "tare" button to reset the gauge to zero.
3. Place the digital dial gauge on a flat and stable surface.
4. Press the measuring tip of the gauge firmly against the surface that you want to measure.
5. Take note of the reading displayed on the gauge.
6. If you need to zero the gauge again, lift the gauge off the surface and press the "zero" or "tare" button to reset the gauge to zero.
7. Repeat the process until you get an accurate reading.
