Replacing a Pneumatic Motor with an Electric Gear Motor

    Hey everyone,
We’re running a tube sizer with a pneumatic motor, and the noise is becoming a real headache. We're considering switching to an electric motor. Here are the current air-motor specs:
    Multi-vane reversible air motor
    Planetary gear
    0.61 HP
    94 RPM
    76.5 lb-ft starting torque
    102 lb-ft stall torque
Is there an induction motor with similar specs? Any advice is appreciated.

    Dear Olivia,
Yes, we can help, but we need some details first:
    1. What operating voltage will the induction motor use after replacing the pneumatic motor?
    2. How will the 3-phase motor be mounted?
    3. What torque, speed, and peak torque do you need?
Once we have that information, we can recommend the right model.

Sorry, turns out I sent the wrong motor earlier. We're actually using an Ingersoll Rand M007RVR188BR6 Multi-Vane Reversible Air Motor.
    Type: Air Motor
    Power (HP): 0.61
    Power (kW): 0.46
Speed at Max. Power (RPM): 47
    Free Speed (RPM): 94
    Starting Torque (lb-ft): 76.5
    Starting Torque (Nm): 104
    Stall Torque (lb-ft): 102
    Stall Torque (Nm): 138
Air Consumption at Max Power (scfm): 33
Air Consumption at Max Power (scfm): 0.93
    Not 100% sure about voltage yet—probably 120/240V.
Motor will mount on a table-top base.
Application: sizing the ends of our tubing.

Thanks for the clarification. Based on the specs, we recommend our 1 hp (750W) AC gear motor, available in both single-phase and 3-phase:
    Gear Ratio: 30:1
    Voltage: 3-phase 220V, 60Hz
    Output Torque: 113 Nm
    Output Speed: 60 rpm
Please review the specs to confirm they meet your needs. Free shipping.

Yes, the motor is reversible. Just like a conventional three-phase induction motor, it can be reversed by exchanging the connections of two wires.
