A tapped density meter is an instrument used to measure the tapped density of powder, granular or flaky materials under certain tapping conditions. Tapped density refers to the mass per unit volume of a material after vibration compaction, and is usually used to evaluate the filling characteristics, fluidity and compression behavior of a powder.

The tapped density meter controls the vibration frequency and amplitude so that the powder or granular material reaches a stable volume after a certain number of vibrations in the measuring cylinder, and then calculates its density.
