Tips: What are the essential safety requirements for control transformers?
1. Temperature rise
The temperature rise of the control transformer has a direct impact on its safe use. When the insulation of the transformer is class E, the temperature rise should be lower than 75K. The temperature rise of iron core transformer should be controlled within 55K.
2. Insulation resistance
The size of the insulation resistance is directly related to the safety performance of the control transformer. Generally, the insulation resistance of the transformer should be greater than 10 mΩ in cold state, and its insulation pad should be greater than 2 mΩ when the transformer is in hot state for a period of time.
3. Insulation strength
In order to ensure the safe and stable operation of the transformer, it must also have a large insulation strength. Generally, we require that it can withstand the withstand voltage test of 2000V, 50 Hz sinusoidal AC voltage and pass the test, that is to say, when the withstand voltage is reached for one minute, there will be no flashover or breakdown.
4. Leakage current
If the leakage current of the transformer is too large, it may affect other electronic components, so we generally require that the leakage current of the control transformer should be less than 3mA.
5. Grounding is essential
In the safe use and requirements of the whole control transformer, grounding is the most easy to be forgotten. Only when we properly ground the transformer can we ensure that the electrical equipment will not be damaged in case of short circuit, leakage, etc. Generally, we have equipped the special grounding terminal for the transformer product and marked the obvious grounding mark on it.
