    Hi everyone,
I have a 20 ton hydraulic press that I am looking to measure the press tonnage of. Can you recommend a load cell and an instrument panel readout that would fit this? The readout needs to be in tons, lbs, kg, or some unit of weight. Thanks!

    Hi Silas,
If you want to test the pressure tonnage of a 20 ton hydraulic press, we recommend the ATO-LC-P01 compression load cell with a 25 ton range. You can check the specs here: https://www.ato.com/compression-load-cell-300kg-to-50-ton.
We can also configure it with a handheld pressure gauge (as shown in the attached picture) for direct tonnage display.

I’ve used that same ATO compression load cell on a 30-ton press — works great. Just make sure you have a flat, stable mounting surface to avoid side loads. The handheld pressure gauge is pretty convenient, too, especially if you need portability.

Another option is to go with a panel-mounted indicator if you prefer a fixed installation. ATO also has display controllers with unit conversion (tons/lbs/kg) and analog output if you want to log data later.

Thanks, everyone! This is exactly what I needed. I’ll go with the ATO-LC-P01 and handheld indicator setup.
