ATO provides earth resistance testers with a measurement range of 0.00Ω-300kΩ, which are widely used in ground resistance measurement and loop resistance measurement in fields such as electric power, telecommunications, meteorology, oil fields, construction, and industrial electrical equipment. When measuring the grounding system with a loop, the ground resistance tester does not need auxiliary electrodes and does not need to disconnect the grounding wire, which is safer and faster.

4 Tips for Measuring Ground Resistance

When measuring ground resistance with an AC power supply, an independent power supply, usually a separate transformer, should be used, and the neutral point and grounding point should be open to prevent errors caused by shunting or current failure. The voltage level is estimated based on the current loop impedance and the required current.
In many substations, the overhead ground wire of the transmission line is connected with the grounding device of the substation, which will affect the measurement results of the ground resistance of the grounding device of the substation. I recently purchased this Clamp Ground Resistance Tester and I am very satisfied with the performance of this tester. The clamp design of the tester makes the measurement process very easy. There is no need to disconnect the circuit, just clamp the test clip to measure, which greatly saves operation time and energy.
