Applications
ATO pad mounted distribution transformers serve residential neighborhoods, commercial developments, industrial facilities, utility networks, and rural agricultural areas, delivering reliable, weather-resistant power distribution across diverse outdoor environments.

Tips: How is a pad mounted transformer different from a conventional transformer?
A pad mounted distribution Transformer is a ground-mounted, fully enclosed electrical transformer designed for underground distribution systems. It is typically installed on a concrete pad and used in residential, commercial, and industrial power networks to step down medium voltage to usable low voltage levels.
Compared with conventional transformers (such as pole-mounted or open-type oil-immersed transformers), a pad mounted transformer has several key differences. It features a sealed metal enclosure, which protects all live components and eliminates direct exposure, making it much safer for installation in public or accessible areas. It also uses underground cable connections instead of overhead lines, resulting in a cleaner and more compact power distribution layout.
In addition, pad mounted transformers offer enhanced safety, lower noise levels, and improved environmental protection, while conventional transformers are often more exposed and require higher installation clearance. As a result, pad mounted units are widely used in urban distribution networks where safety, aesthetics, and reliability are critical.
