    Static Eliminators: Types and Applications

The static elimination device is mainly used in the pre-spraying treatment of plastic workpieces (such as mobile phone casings, high-end air conditioner casings, computer casings, telephone casings, CDs, VCD discs, etc.) Mainly ABS, polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, vinyl, nylon, etc.) the workpiece will generate high-voltage static electricity due to friction during injection molding, transportation, etc., which will cause the workpiece to absorb a large amount of dust on its surface. If the dust on the surface cannot be removed before spraying After cleaning, the result of spraying will cause an uneven surface of the workpiece and weak adhesion between the coating and the workpiece, which will directly affect the aesthetics and service life of the workpiece after the workpiece is sprayed; The static elimination equipment can quickly eliminate the static electricity on the surface of the workpiece and effectively remove the dust adsorbed on the workpiece. It solves the problem of spraying quality caused by dust for a complete set of equipment and makes the workpiece after spraying more beautiful, durable, and of a higher grade.

    3 Types of Static Eliminators

    AC static eliminator

The AC high voltage generator raises the 220V input voltage to more than 4KV, the discharge electrode alternates with positive voltage and negative voltage at a frequency of 5Hz, a strong electric field is generated between the discharge electrode and the ground electrode, the empty particles are ionized, and the tip of the discharge electrode alternately generates positive and negative ions. When the surface of the charged object is at a positive potential, the negative ions will neutralize it, and on the contrary, if the surface is at a negative potential, the positive ions will neutralize it. AC corona products must be grounded to work properly, but some positive and negative ions will be guided to the ground due to grounding, but the structure is simple and the balance of positive and negative ions is good.

    DC static eliminator

The DC high voltage generator increases the input voltage of 220V and outputs positive and negative voltages respectively. A strong electric field is generated between the negative discharge electrodes, air molecules are ionized, positive ions are generated at the tip of the positive discharge electrode, negative ions are generated at the tip of the negative discharge electrode, and positive and negative ions are generated. At the same time, static electricity is generated to neutralize the surface of the object. When the surface of the charged object has a positive potential, the negative ions will neutralize it. On the contrary, if it is a negative potential, the positive ions will neutralize it. The DC corona product can generate positive and negative ions without grounding, the positive and negative ions acting on the surface of the object are sufficient, and the speed of neutralizing static electricity is very fast.

    Pulse DC Static Eliminator

The pulsed DC high voltage generator increases the 220V input voltage and outputs positive and negative voltages on the discharge electrode alternately with a cycle of 4-6 seconds, thereby generating positive and negative ions alternately. When the surface of the charged object is at a positive potential, the negative ions will neutralize it, on the contrary, in static electricity, if the surface is at a negative potential, the positive ions will neutralize it. Because the pulsed direct current positive and negative ions and the switching period are 200-300 times longer than the I-frequency alternating current static eliminator, there is no self-neutralization of positive and negative ions, and there is no need for grounding to lose positive and negative ions, and it can be adjusted according to the distance of the object to be removed. When the distance is long, the conversion period can be long, and when the distance is close, the time can be short. The pulsed DC static eliminator can reach the action distance of positive and negative ions without a fan.

What fields are static eliminators used in?

    Printing industry

    Printing, plastic packaging industry

Installing rod static elimination equipment on high-speed plastic forming machines, slitting machines, stretch winding machines, and other plastic machinery equipment can effectively eliminate the high-voltage static electricity generated when the plastic sheet is pulled at a high speed, and prevent the sheet from adsorbing static electricity in the air due to static electricity. Dust or sheets adhere to each other due to static electricity, which effectively improves the product grade and quality of plastic sheets after production and processing. A static eliminator is installed at the entrance of the plastic raw materials of the plastic injection molding machine, which can eliminate the high-voltage static electricity generated by the raw materials in the flow, so as to prevent the raw materials from being agglomerated or piled at the entrance due to static electricity, which directly affects the production.

    Painting, silk screen industry

Installing gun-type, fan-type, and rod-type static elimination equipment at the front end of painting equipment and assembly line can effectively eliminate static electricity on the workpiece and remove dust adsorbed on the workpiece, so as to make the workpiece after spraying and screen printing more beautiful, durable and high-grade higher.

    Printing and flocking industry

Both printing and flocking have explosive materials such as Tianna water and plush in production. In order to make production safe and prevent static electricity from affecting product quality, explosion-proof and induction static elimination equipment can be used on printing and flocking equipment, in order to successfully complete the production tasks.
