DC Coil AC Contactors

ATO DC coil AC contactors combine DC electromagnetic control with multi-pole AC load switching. The DC coil allows the contactor to be operated from a separate control circuit, while the main contacts handle the connected AC circuit.

This series includes 4 pole contactors rated from 40A to 95A, with 24V, 110V, and 220V DC coil options. The range covers various AC switching requirements for industrial machinery, motor control, power distribution, and electrical control systems.

4 Pole Configuration

A 4 pole contactor has four main contacts operated by the same electromagnetic coil. The contacts switch simultaneously, allowing multiple conductors to be connected or disconnected through a single control signal. This configuration is suitable for AC circuits that require coordinated switching of multiple conductors. It also simplifies centralized control and wiring in electrical panels.

DC Coil and AC Switching

The DC coil serves as the control interface, while the main contacts switch the AC load. This arrangement allows a DC control signal to operate an AC power circuit without directly switching the load through the control device. ATO models are available in three DC coil voltage options:

1. 24V DC: for low-voltage control circuits and automation systems
2. 110V DC: for control systems using 110V DC
3. 220V DC: for control systems using 220V DC

Current Ratings

ATO 4 pole DC coil AC contactors are available in rated currents from 40A to 95A, including 40A, 50A, 65A, 80A, and 95A models. This range accommodates AC loads with different current requirements while maintaining the same 4 pole configuration and DC coil voltage options. Select the rated current according to the operating current and load characteristics of the connected AC equipment. For motor and other inductive loads, consider the starting current and applicable contactor rating in addition to the normal operating current.
