    Hipot Tester Price List

The dielectric strength tester, also known as the hipot tester, is probably the most widely-used instrument in product process safety test that is familiar to many. According to the working principle of the hi pot tester, DC or AC high voltage of certain specification is imposed between the charged part and non-charged part (generally the external shell) of the electric appliance to test the voltage endurance capability of the electric appliance's insulating materials.

In the long-term operation process, the electric appliance should not only bear the rated operational voltage, but also bear the overvoltage caused by the short period of operating beyond the rated operational voltage. Affected by these voltages, the internal structure of electric insulating materials will be changed. When the voltage strength reaches certain value, the insulation breakdown of materials will be caused, thus impeding the normal operation of electric appliances and threatening personal safety due to the possibility of electric shock. Major test indexes of electric safety include AC/DC withstanding voltage, insulation resistance, leakage current, ground resistance, etc. ATO hipot tester is used to verify the electric safety performance of products under the working status, and constitutes a major test index of electric safety performance.

In the process of operation, the insulation of the electric appliance is subject to the influence of the electric field, temperature and mechanical vibration for a long time, thus leading to gradual degradation, including integrated degradation, to form defects. For example, partial defects can be found in some parts with concentrated electric fields or vulnerable insulation. Various preventative test methods each have their own advantages and defects, which can well reflect the insulation status. The test voltage of other test methods is usually lower than the working voltage of electric appliances, which cannot provide adequate guarantee for safe operation.

The DC hipot tester, though with a higher test voltage, is found with insulation weaknesses, but the insulation of electric appliances is mostly composite dielectrics, whose voltage is distributed by resistance under the effect of DC voltage. Therefore, the DC hi-pot test might not find out the weaknesses of the DC electric appliances under the AC electric field. On the contrary, the AC hipot tester is in line with the electric conditions imposed on the electric appliance during its operation process. Meanwhile, the AC hi pot tester is generally higher than the operating voltage. Therefore, after passing the test, the appliance can gain a larger safety margin, so this test has been a major method to guarantee operation safety.
