    Tips: Ammonia (NH3) Gas Detector for Livestock Farm

    The harm caused by ammonia to the pig farm may be far beyond our imagination, including the growth and development of pigs, the respiratory resistance, estrus, pregnancy and childbirth. Therefore, the developed countries in Europe and the United States have made strict requirements for the ammonia concentration in pig farms. EU requires that the ammonia (NH3) shall be lower than 10PPM while the United States requires to be lower than 15PPM.

    The NH3 gas in the pig farm is mainly from the degradation and decomposition of feces and urine discharged by pigs every day. In cold seasons (winter and spring), the delivery room and nursery house are closed to keep warm. Large amount of ammonia, hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide produces and accumulates in the rooms. As the concentration gets higher, the risk becomes greater. To solve this problem, ATO launched the ammonia (NH3) gas detector, which has a proper price and excellent performance. It can provide a strong guarantee for improving the farming environment.

    The gas detector has the silicone hose as an option for accessory. The outside diameter of the detector's suction tube is 7.1mm.

    Yes, we can provide it. Our NH3 detector has one year warranty and will be well-calibrated before leaving the factory. Generally, you can calibrate yearly.

    Hi, Michael. You are suggested to use a combination of a hose and metal tube to increase the detection distance, and the metal tube can be customized up to 1m.

    2. Yes, you can turn off the alarm.
    3. Sensor: Electrochemical.

    Are your handheld ammonia detectors fully handheld?
    I would like you to affirm that the ATO handheld ammonia gas detector is cordless and totally hand held. There is a cord out the bottom of it in the picture.

    We confirm it is handheld. The cord is just for charging the internal battery when needed.
    The instruction manual is well written
    Purchased the Ammonia Gas Detector for hydrogen sulfide detection in pipeline construction jobs, I used it according to the manual, the product worked well, I found them accurate, easy to use, very portable and good value for money.

    I see from the table below that this sensor is recommended for the detection of NH3 gas concentration in the air.
    Is the sensor still accurate when rather than in air ammonia is in hydrogen (with no air)?
